The April Film series, hosted by SPEAK and the UT Film Committee, will present four films that raise specific topics relating to daily-life in Knoxville.
Through a combination of feature films and panels our hope is to engage the Knoxville community in conversation about our potential for a sustainable future. The SPEAKout website is intended to act as a forum for individuals and groups to continue engaging in the conversation(s) raised by each film.
The April Film Series will take place each Wednesday evening at 7pm in Alumni Memorial Building Room 27, except the final film (The 11th Hour), which will be held in the University Auditorium.
April 2: Transportation - Who Killed the Electric Car?
April 9: Appalachian Coal - Black Diamond
April 16: Food - King Corn (includes Q&A with director from film)
April 23: Technology - The 11th Hour (includes Q&A and panel discussion, in UC Auditorium
